Sariska Tiger Reserve is a national park and tiger reserve located in the Alwar
district of the state of Rajasthan, India. It was established as a sanctuary in
1958 and then as a tiger reserve in 1979 and eventually as a national park in the
year 1982.The tiger reserve is famous for its Bengal Tigers, bird watching and the
Jungle Safaris that take you through the pristine forests.
Sariska National Park lies in the Aravali hills and was once the hunting preserve
of the Maharaja of Alwar. With an area of around 800 sq.km, the topography of the
protected area comprises scrub-thorn arid forests, rocky landscapes, dry deciduous
forests, rocks, grasses and hilly cliffs and is dotted with places of religious
and historical interests, which includes the ruins of the Kankarwari Fort, the 10
th century old Neelkantha Mahadev temples, the Budhha Hanuman temple near Pandupol,t
he Bharthari temple near the park office and the beautiful remnants of temples at
Taalvriksh which is also famous for the hot and cold springs.
Siliserh lake is located close to THE SARISKA RETREAT ( 40 Kms) and has a beautiful
Palace overlooking the lake then built by the Maharaja for his wife. The lake is
a popular stopover point for people travelling to Sariska National Park. Where the
stunning backdrop of the Aravalli Hills adds to the charm of the palace.
• Virat Nagar place of Pandavas exile Bairat: This small town, in the state
of Rajasthan was once the capital of the legendary and ancient kingdom of Matsayadesh,
which can be dated back to the times of the Mahabharata. With ornately carved temples
and shrines and natural rock and cave shelters, there is much that the town of Viratnagar

• BHANGARH FORT :
The Bhangarh fort has been tagged as the most haunted place in India and is now
becoming the main tourist attraction for the people visiting Rajasthan. It is a
17th-century fort built by Man Singh l (one of the navratnas of Akbar's court).
The Bhangarh Fort is lovely and while standing on the terrace of the fort, you can
see the vast expanse of Bhangarh town.
• ABHANERI STEPWELLCHAND BAORI :
At a 92 Kms distance, One of the oldest and deepest stepwells of Rajasthan is also
known as Abhaneri step well. It is an architectural surprise that consists of perfectly
symmetrical 3,500 narrow steps over 13 storeys. Adjoining this stepwell, there is
a temple, dedicated to Harshat Mata. Harshat Mata is regarded as the goddess of
joy who spreads happiness to the entire village.
